Acworth, GA (September 24, 2019) – The Georgia State Patrol has confirmed that the individual whose life was taken in a fatal crash on I-75 was a teenager.
The accident took place on Saturday after a teenager crashed a reported stolen vehicle. The person whose life was taken was identified as a 14-year-old boy, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. He was a passenger in the vehicle.
The driver had been trying to outrun police and was traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver soon lost control, causing to go airborne and strike an ice machine in the parking lot of a travel center. This caused the ice machine to strike a pedestrian, who was taken to the hospital with injuries.
The driver was identified as a 16-year-old who was flown to the hospital for treatment. They remain in critical condition at this time.
Charges are pending and the investigation into the accident continues.
