Gainesville, GA (September 6, 2019) – On Thursday morning, police responded to the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident on GA-53 that led to the death of one individual.
The accident took place around 6 a.m. when a 59-year-old man was allegedly standing in an eastbound lane of GA-53. He was suddenly struck by a passing Honda Civic.
The driver of the Civic stayed at the scene of the accident so that he or she could cooperate with police. Police did not charge the driver.
The 59-year-old was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
