Macon, GA (September 23, 2019) – Around 7 p.m. last night, September 22, police responded to a fatal accident that took the life of a child on US-19 near the area of Loraine Woods Drive.
The accident, according to police, took place when the driver of a passenger vehicle lost control and went off the side of the road for reasons that are not yet known. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was immediately called to the scene to investigate.
There were three children in the vehicle being driven somewhere by their father. The children were identified as a 10-year-old, 3-year-old, and 1-year-old.
The child who was killed at the scene of the accident was identified as the 10-year-old. The other two children and their father were all injured and transported to the Navicent Health Medical Center for treatment.
At this time, police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the accident.
