Marietta, GA (September 16, 2019) – On Friday around 1:57 p.m., police responded to the scene of a fatal accident that took place on Powder Springs Road in Marietta.
At the time of the accident, police confirmed that a Ford Fusion was traveling west on Powder Springs in the left lane and a black 2010 Fusion was entering the roadway. The black Fusion entered into the path of the other Fusion, which caused them to collide with one another.
The driver of the first Fusion was identified as a 19-year-old woman who was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the black Fusion was identified as a 79-year-old woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The collision remains under investigation at this time.
