Athens, GA (September 11, 2019) – On Sunday night, police confirmed that one person was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on Lexington Road in Athens.
According to police, the accident took place around 10:40 p.m. when a 52-year-old man was walking on Lexington Road near Johnson Drive. Police claim that he had been wearing dark clothing at the time.
Suddenly, the man was struck by a Nissan pickup being driven by a 86-year-old man from Oglethorpe County.
Police claim that the pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. No charges have been filed.
At this time, the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
