Atlanta, GA (September 12, 2019) – Around 4:45 p.m. yesterday afternoon, September 11, a pedestrian accident took place at a local deli in Atlanta that led to serious injuries.
According to police, the accident took place after officers noticed a black sedan that was reported stolen from Clayton County and attempted to pull it over at an intersection. However, the vehicle sped away from them.
The vehicle suddenly crossed the median and ran into oncoming traffic, where it struck a pickup truck and then slammed into a van parked by the American Deli at 1624 Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway. Both of the vehicles spiraled off the road and into the restaurant, where they caused damages.
There was a man standing outside the restaurant at the time and was struck by the speeding vehicle as well. He was immediately taken to the Grady Memorial Hospital in serious condition. Police sadly do not know his condition at this time.
Three people were in the stolen vehicle and were immediately taken into custody. The Georgia State Patrol was called to the scene to investigate and continues its investigation at this time.
