Augusta, GA (September 10, 2019) – Around 6 a.m. yesterday morning, September 9, police responded to the scene of a fatal accident that happened at an intersection in Augusta.
According to authorities, the accident took place at the intersection of the Mike Padgett Highway and Marvin Griffin Road.
The crash took place when a Toyota Corolla suddenly ran into the back of a tractor-trailer. The driver of the Corolla was immediately rushed to the hospital but their condition is not known.
The coroner who arrived at the scene pronounced one party dead. She was identified as a 57-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Corolla. Police say that she was not restrained at the time of the crash.
At this time, the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
