Lawrenceville, GA (September 16, 2019) – Around 4:30 a.m. yesterday afternoon, September 15, police responded to the scene of a hit-and-run accident on University Parkway in Lawrenceville.
The crash, according to police, took place on Highway 316. Deputies discovered that a black Jeep Cherokee had been struck in the rear-end, causing it to drive off the side of the road, where it struck a tree.
The driver of the struck vehicle received serious injuries. The vehicle that struck the Jeep immediately fled the scene of the accident. Police believe that it was a red Ford Escape but have not yet found the responsible driver.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
