Roopville, GA (September 17, 2019) – On Monday, September 16, police responded to the scene of a fatal hit-and-run accident on Armstrong Mill Road in Roopville.
Authorities claim that a witness had been driving westbound when they came upon a man walking on the roadway. The witness later drove through the area again, only to find that the man had been struck by a vehicle and was badly injured.
The Georgia State Patrol confirmed that the pedestrian was identified as a 20-year-old man who tragically passed away at the scene of the accident.
No witnesses saw the vehicle that struck the pedestrian and the driver immediately fled. However, police claim that several small pieces of the vehicle are thought to have been left at the scene and they are attempting to identify the vehicle.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.
