Villa Rica, GA (September 20, 2019) – This morning before 11 a.m., police claim that two contractors were injured in a car accident involving a stolen vehicle on GA-402.
The crash took place when a stolen Ford F-150 truck was in the left lane when it suddenly struck the rear-end of a Toyota Tundra. The Tundra swerved out of control, where it soon collided with a GMC Sierra.
Two contractors were on the side of the shoulder of the interstate attempting to pick up construction cones when they were struck by the Tundra. After the Tundra struck a tree, it came to a rest.
The Georgia State Patrol arrived at the scene of the accident to investigate. Through preliminary findings, they discovered that the driver of the Ford had been at fault for the wreck and was charged with DUI, following too closely, causing injuries in an accident, distracted driving, and more.
Both of the contractors were taken to the hospital with serious injuries but one of them remains in critical condition at this time.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident is ongoing.
